~in JANUARY:
Saturday the 14th: 2nd Saturday Poets. Featured readers in January will be g emil and Diane Sahms-Guarani, editors of the Fox Chase Review. They also facilitate the Fox Chase Reading Series in Philadelphia.
Saturday the 21st: Labyrinth Retreat Day at Temenos Retreat Center. This program is facilitated by M. Carol Mauer.
~ in FEBRUARY:
Residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. “VCCA is an international working retreat for visual artists, writers, and composers situated in the rolling foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. VCCA provides residential fellowships of two weeks to two months where highly accomplished artists may work on their creative projects free from the distractions of day-to-day life.”
~ in MARCH:
Saturday the 10th: 2nd Saturday Poets. Featured reader will be Dan Maguire, who twice won first prize for poetry at the Philadelphia Writer’s Conference and who has been nominated for three Pushcart Prizes.
~ in MAY
Pennwriters Conference, Friday May 18 – Sunday May 20. This is Pennwriters’ 25th Annual Conference and features more than 37 workshops and panels, plus Read & Critique sessions, a writing contest, pitch sessions, an Author’s Tea, banquet and opportunities for networking, learning, and friendship building.
~ in JUNE and JULY
Teaching a 3-week online course called WRITING STRONG SCENES for the Pittsburgh area chapter of Sisters in Crime. The course involves a tutorial, writing prompts, and a Round Robin critique session for participants.
~ in AUGUST
Acting as emcee for the Open Mic portion of the debut performance of the Written Remains Fictioneers, a literary reading in Newark, Delaware.
~ in SEPTEMBER
I am one of 16 authors attending the Delaware Division of the Arts’ 2012 Writers Retreat at the Biden Center in Cape Henlopen, Delaware. 8 prose writers and 8 poets were selected for 3 days of critique, guided workshops, and private writing time.
~ in OCTOBER:
On Tuesday, October 2, I’ll attend The Art$ Means BuSiness symposium in Dover, Delaware, which will examine the economic of the arts in Delaware. This event is sponsored by the Delaware Division of the Arts and the Delaware Arts Alliance.
On Saturday, October 6, I’ll be breakfasting with fellow writers in the New Castle County area at a Writers Breakfast Club, organized through the Delaware Writers Network on Facebook.
On Saturday, October 27, the Delaware Literary Connection will present a tribute to Emily Dickinson, at the historic Deer Park Tavern, on Main Street in Newark, Delaware, from 4:00-7:30 p.m.
~ in NOVEMBER:
On Saturday, Nov. 3, 10:00 a.m. at Panera’s (Kirkwood Highway): Writers Breakfast Club – Writers talking to writers about the writing life.
On Sunday, Nov. 4, 2 p.m. at Newark Free Library: POETRY OF LOSS – As part of Grief Awareness Week, Delaware Poet Laureate JoAnn Balingit and other poets will read poems relating to grief and healing, as well as discuss the healing power of poetry.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, 5 p.m. at The Jackson Inn, Wilmington, DE – 2nd Saturday Poets presents the winners of the 2nd Saturday Poets Writing Contest.

I will be attending the Bay to Ocean Writers Conference, on Saturday, February 23, in Wye Mills, Maryland. The conference is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Writers Association.
in MARCH:
I will be a presenter at The Write Stuff Conference, sponsored by the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. Details to follow.
in MAY:
I will be a presenter at Pennwriters 2013 conference. Details to follow.
